A series of songs documenting the stages of falling in, out of, and staying in love, 'Somebody' is my first released single from my upcoming 'Somebody' EP that I wrote back in 2017. Capturing my state of mind at the time being single, I describe the liberating feeling of being fully healed from a bad breakup yet this loneliness that comes with being single. This carefree indie-pop reminiscent of the early 2000s pop music explores the long-time notion of "loving yourself before you can love others": while one can feel helplessly single wondering who'd come along to sweep us off our feet, it doesn't mean we "must have somebody".
